Crazy

Bangkok by night...

255 metres above ground situates the Sky bar. A plattform bar that stretches out in thin air over the streets of Bangkok. Can you imagine what it feels like to be standing out in the open with nothing but air above and underneath you drinking Mojitos and Margaritas. It was absolutely a moment that will stay with you the rest of your life.

Grand Palace...

This is me, exhausted from walking around in longsleeve shirt and trousers at the surroundings of Grand Palace. The first thing i did when exiting the area was to strip of the hot clothes and relax on the pavewalk to catch my breath. It was an amazing day. We saw among other things a miniature Angkhor Wat, that one of the old kings had let built on the grounds. the temple is actually both buddhist and a hindu temple. Angkhor Wat lies today in Cambodia but long ago the lands around the temple was Thai. The old king wanted in the beginnign the original temple Angkhor Wat to be moved piece by piece to be rebuilt on Thai ground but in the end he understood that there would be to much heavy work and that it would cost to much money to do so. Instead he made this miniature.

Green Mango...

Soi Green Mango by night... This is the number one partystreet in Chaweng beach, Koh Samui. All the bars and clubs are crowded, so crowded with people that we went out on the street between the clubs and danced. Imagine being there, where the smiles are everywhere. Strangers dancing with eachother. Cheers, salud, chok dee, skål ta mig fan, chin chin, salute...!!! All kinds of people, all kinds of nationalities and all kinds of music totally mixed on this small strand of Soi Green Mango. Most days the clubs finish at 3 am and the party people moves on to Solo club (Club S) where the party continues to 6 am.

...I remember when,
remember when I lost my mind..
...There was something so pleasant
about that place....
...Even your emotions had an echo
and so much space...

does that make me crazy
... possibly....

Stupid drunk Falang...

Sad thing this. One night when Paul ´d just come back from Ninja Restaurant with food. The power went out all over Chaweng. I had a small candle litted, but it was pitch dark and absolutely silent. We´d gotten use to power-outs on Koh Samui by this time. But this one was different. I senced it. It was to quiet. It had to be burning somewhere. It stayed this way for more than an hour before the aircondition and lights went back on.
The next morning Paul came back from the minimarket, telling me this story.
" A drunk tourist had gone on his motorcycle. Then he had lost control of it, bumped into the pavement, crashed into one of the small shops along Beachroad were unfortunately tnks of gas were stored. (like in many Thais homes) The gas caught fire and exploaded and spread on the other shops." A whole block with about 10 shops and 10 homes burned up that night. Peoples whole life savings were gone, peope were left with nothing but the clothes they were wearing. We saw people crying and screaming of heartache and misery. Luckily noone died, luckily....
All because a stupid falang wouldn´t pay a Songthaew (Pickup-taxi) about 60 baht to take him home.

Last night in Pattaya...

The very sad last night in Pattaya. All of us just wanted to cry. God it´s almost a year away until we´ll meet again. These people, our friends are so nice and firendly and have been since day one of our first trip. Of course this is a country were money talks. But since we´ve been to this place so many we´ve noticed the difference between money friend and real friend.... And theese people here are the real stuff....
